Rev. Garnett Chute
My name is Rev. Garnett Chute, senior pastor here at Hermon Baptist Church for the past 21 years. It has been exciting to see our church grow from 70 to 300 on a regular basis to God's glory.
I was born in Lubec, Maine on January 19, 1954 and grew up on Campobello Island, New Brunswick as a dual-citizen. I received Christ as my Savior at North Road Baptist Church in February 1966. God called me to New Brunswick Bible Institute from 1972-1975. Upon graduation, I served in my home church for one year, associate pastor at Machias Valley Baptist 1976-1978, and senior pastor at Hudson Baptist Church 1978-1995. My wife Joellen is from Bucksport, Maine and is a great encouragement to me. We have a son Lee and daughter Laurie.
We would love to invite you to visit us at Hermon Baptist Church. We are independent, Baptistic, fundamental, family-centered, and very missions minded. We support 30 missionaries around the world, 5 mission organizations, and various short term missions trips, with 11% tithe of our budget plus faith promise giving. We reach into our community with Evangelism Explosion, AWANA, Sunday School, Prison Ministries, Youth Groups and VBS. Evangelism and discipleship are our two main goals with Biblical preaching from the Word of God.
We will have a seat reserved for you this Sunday....

Pastor Jonathan Doughty
My name is Jon Doughty. I have been the Youth Pastor here at HBC since 2015. I am thrilled at the opportunity to server here in Hermon. I grew up in Philadelphia, PA and lived most of my life in the city. I am a die-hard Philadelphia Flyers fan but love almost any good hockey game. I also have an extreme passion for Philly cheesesteaks! Real cheesesteaks only!
I attended Clearwater Christian College in Clearwater, FL from 1998-2002. I graduated with a BA in Pastoral Studies. I then had the opportunity to work on my Master's degree while working a number of jobs and serving in different ministries. I graduated from Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary (Lansdale, PA) in 2008 with a MA in Theological studies. I have done ministry work on the collegiate level and have had a prior opportunity to serve in Owatonna, MN as a Youth Pastor.
God has blessed me through the years with a remarkably patient wife, Hope. I still don't know how she puts up with me and our 3 little reminders that the mother's curse works. My mother always told me that I would have kids just like I was. From the stories she still tells people about me, I'm terrified. We have three very active and often loud children: Noelle (Ellie), Brenna, and Jonathan Jr. (LJ).
